Cancellation Policy

At Ceylon Signature, every journey is carefully designed and personally arranged. As our trips are tailor-made and involve advance reservations with selected partners in Sri Lanka, the following cancellation policy applies.

We aim to be fair, transparent, and flexible whenever possible.


1. Scope of This Policy

This Cancellation Policy applies to:

  • Tailor-made tours

  • Family and couple packages

  • Wellness & Ayurveda retreats

  • Private driver tours

  • Customized travel services arranged by Ceylon Signature

Different suppliers (hotels, airlines, service providers) may have their own cancellation conditions, which will be communicated during the booking process.


2. Cancellation by the Traveler

If you need to cancel your booking, please notify us in writing via email as soon as possible.

a) Cancellation Fees

Unless otherwise stated in your individual travel offer, the following fees apply:

  • More than 45 days before departure:
    → Refund of all payments minus administrative and non-refundable costs

  • 30–45 days before departure:
    → 30% of the total travel cost is non-refundable

  • 15–29 days before departure:
    → 50% of the total travel cost is non-refundable

  • Less than 15 days before departure or no-show:
    → 100% of the total travel cost is non-refundable

Non-refundable costs may include hotel deposits, airline tickets, special permits, and third-party services already secured on your behalf.


3. Partially Used Services

If a trip is shortened, interrupted, or partially unused due to personal reasons, no refund can be provided for unused services.


4. Special Conditions (Flights, Hotels, Ayurveda Retreats)

Some services may be subject to stricter cancellation terms, including:

  • International or domestic flights

  • Boutique and luxury hotels

  • Exclusive villas and retreats

  • Ayurveda and Panchakarma programs

These specific conditions will be clearly communicated before confirmation and may override the standard cancellation terms.


5. Cancellation by Ceylon Signature

In rare cases where we must cancel a trip due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. force majeure, safety concerns, operational issues), we will:

  • Offer an alternative travel arrangement or

  • Provide a refund of payments already made, excluding non-recoverable third-party costs

Ceylon Signature shall not be liable for additional expenses incurred by the traveler (e.g. visa fees, insurance, flight changes).


6. Force Majeure

Neither party shall be held responsible for cancellation or changes caused by events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters

  • Extreme weather conditions

  • Political unrest

  • Pandemics or health emergencies

  • Government restrictions

In such cases, we will always aim to find a fair and practical solution together with our partners.


7. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers:

  • Trip cancellation

  • Medical emergencies

  • Travel interruption

  • Force majeure events

Travel insurance is the traveler’s responsibility.


8. Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed within 14–30 business days, depending on banks and payment providers.
Any bank or transaction fees are non-refundable.


9. Changes to This Policy

Ceylon Signature reserves the right to update this Cancellation Policy at any time.
The latest version will always be available on our website.
